Here's what the critics had to say about

LOU GEORGE
as
"Herbie"
in
starring Alene Robertson
8 time Jeff Award Winner
directed by David Wanstreet
produced by Ed Sayles
for Merry-Go-Round Playhouse

    Lou George does an excep-
tional turn as Herbie, the agent
and Rose's paramour.
    He matches Robertson through-
out the play with a polished, pro-
fessional performance.  He lends a
charming and likable balance to
Rose's brashness and never gets
outmatched.  He is an accom-
plished singer and moves through
his dance numbers with skill and
confidence.  His acting ability
matches Robertson's scene for
scene.
                          ~ The Auburn Citizen
    Lou George gives a touching
performance as Herbie, the
hapless agent who falls in love
with Rose.  His Herbie has the
right edge of the man who can
sell the shoddy act and is the
lover who takes a back seat to
Rose's ambition.
          ~ The Syracuse Post-Standard
    As Rose's love interest/
manager, Lou George plays an
endearingly spineless Herbie.
He has a lovely voice, and his
acting is fine, despite the fact
that his character is one of the
mousiest men in musical
theater.
                             ~ Ithaca Times
Lou George gives the family agent
Herbie the right basset-hound look
and ably backs Rose in two duets,
"Small World" and "You'll Never
Get Away From Me."  Present also
in George's portrayal is an under-
current of failure; a neat counter-
point to Louise/Gypsy's rise to
fame.
